The small sounds you make
Let me know you’re awake,
When you lie there pretending to sleep.
You cry out at night,
Never give up the fight,
Your nightmares push you through.
Break off of the track,
And never head back,
To the slumber causing you stress.
Let go of my hand,
You’re crushing the band,
Of bones below my skin.
I see the sweat on your face,
I hear your heart race,
What could make you this afraid?
You’re always so strong,
To what thing do you belong,
When I’m no there to protect you.
You know I’ll not ask,
But you need to relax,
Yet still you continue to lose sleep.
We must get you some aid,
To help stop this charade,
Of this calmness you put me through.
